Cars for twins, the other kids AND all the extra stuff you need

choosing a car for twins

Author: Jodi Collins

My two, his two, our two.  Between us, my husband and I have six kids.  Thank God, only the twins are in car seats.  But still…  that’s A LOT of bums on seats!

So, shopping for our plus-size family car was a sobering exercise in ‘if you find a shoe (or in my case, a car) that actually fits, just bloody take it!’

What I wanted was…  a car with enough room for the eight of us, four school bags, a double pram and a shopping bag or two.  USB ports and lots of cup holders. Oh, and, anything BUT a Kia Carnival.

Triplets Starting School – Reflections of a Triplet Mum.

triplets starting at school

Author: Larissa Jordan

Since my trio were born, starting school has always been the ultimate goal. Now it is so close, just like a dangling carrot finally within our grasp. My multiple mum friends and I have joked about toasting our champagne glasses as the bell rings at 9am on the first day of school because surviving for five or more years as a mum of twins, triplets or more, really is a massive accomplishment.

I do not feel sad like so many other first-time school mums seem to be, in fact I am rather excited. I am excited to see how much my three will achieve in their first year at school because they have already accomplished so much.

Talking Twins And More. Episode Two.

Season 1 Episode 2: How We Became Twin Mums in Totally Different Ways

In this heartfelt episode, Nikki and Naomi share their very different journeys to becoming parents of multiples. Naomi opens up about her long battle with endometriosis, her experience with IVF, and the emotional rollercoaster that came with it—including loss, resilience, and a beautiful outcome.

Nikki’s story brings a surprising twist—a whirlwind, unplanned pregnancy that changed everything overnight. She reflects on the shock, the unexpected timing, and how she and her partner navigated the early days of a completely new future.

Together, they highlight how no two paths to parenthood are alike. Through laughter, vulnerability, and some very real moments, this episode is a reminder of the strength, surprises, and love that come with raising multiples.

Would you like a book with that?  Yes, you read that correctly.  Not fries, or even a toy, but a book! McDonald’s will now give you a choice when you order a Happy Meal – a toy or a book.  And not just any book, but a book where the main characters are TWO sets of TWINS!!!!

Introducing the Treetop Twins Adventures series!  An exclusive 12-book series written by Cressida Cowell, and only available at McDonald’s.  This novel idea (see what I did there???) has been designed to promote literacy in children, something that, naturally, appeals to any parent.

Cressida Cowell is a mother of two children, and the author and illustrator of the “How to Train your Dragon” series.   She is also the wife of Simon Cowell, the reality judge on shows like American Idol etc.

Cressida Cowell has written a series of 12 hardback books called the Treetop Twins Adventures, with two new titles available every eight weeks.  The books are about two sets of twins, Asha and Alfie and Tulip and Ted, and their parents Professors Pablo and Penelope.   In this series they travel in a time machine that can also travel under water, across snow and ice, through jungles and plains to study amazing animals, past and present.  They will run with dodo birds, save pink dolphins and more!

Why having twins was the best thing for me

having twins was not as bad as I thought it would be

Author: Natasha Stewart

You may not know this, but I was the one who actually had the idea for Twinfo and helped Naomi start it. My old business, Business Jump helped lots of mums set up an online business, and whilst I am a massive fan of all the businesses we help start, I never in my wildest dreams imagined that I would become unexpectedly pregnant with twins and be one of Naomi’s biggest fans personally as well as professionally. What Naomi has done with Twinfo is just incredible and not only that, she has become a dear friend as well.

Multiple caesareans and Placenta Accreta. My story.

risks of multiple cesareans

Author: Jenny Cutting

I’m writing this to make other mothers aware of multiple caesareans and Placenta Accreta. I never knew the dangers until it happened with my last child. Here is my story.

My twin birth

2004 I was blessed to have given birth to two beautiful little twin boys via caesarean. This was my third caesarean but no complications other than my twins were 7 weeks premature but they were healthy. I wasn’t planning on having any more children.

The loss of a twin at 37 weeks

surviving twin

Please note:  This story contains the loss of a twin at 37 weeks, as well as some heartbreakingly gorgeous images.

Author: Jasmine Legge

It’s been four months and I’ve only now just built up the courage to share my story.

On Valentine’s Day 2019 I got the big fat positive. I was pregnant (very mixed emotions) although my partner, Jason, and I were trying to conceive. We each had children from a previous relationship and this was our first together.

Finding out I was pregnant with twins

Fast forward 6 weeks it’s ultrasound time, the first time I’ll get to see my little peanut on the screen. As the technician scans my belly I jokingly say “there’s not two in there” to which she replies “no” phew!! I can relax now. “Oh.. I just need to do an internal quickly”. “You know how I said before there wasn’t two” she says, well my mistake congratulations. Immediately that twisty knotted up butterflies in the stomach feeling comes over me, you have got to be kidding I’m pregnant with twins.

Surviving the third trimester with twins – The good, the bad and the very ugly!

pregnant with twins third trimester

Author: Jodi Collins

Twin pregnancy in all its glory!

I was pregnant, with two of everything, for roughly 265 days (that’s 6360 looong hours or 381,600 seemingly endless minutes) and I’m not going to lie – towards the end – I felt every, single one of them.

I know I’m one of the lucky ones, not many multi-mammas get to bake their babes until they are well-done, but at the time, I was certain I was serving a sentence of hard time for a crime I didn’t commit.

Right from the beginning, I made a decision, not to count weeks!

One-day-at-a-time was how I survived the third trimester with twins. My morning sickness rivalled the type of hangover only a three-day bender from waaaay back (when I had no kids and a life) could induce.

It was also how I got through the third (uggghhh) trimester.
